Rutledge to step down
Steven Rutledge will retire as president and CEO of West Des Moines-based Farmers Mutual Hail Insurance Company of Iowa at the end of the year, the company announced.
Rutledge, 58, has led the regional crop insurance company since December 2001 and has been with the company for 38 years. He will continue as chairman of the company’s board of directors.
He will be succeeded by his brother, Ronald Rutledge, 53, who is currently executive vice president and chief operating officer. He serves on the board of directors and has been with the company since 1981.
The brothers’ great-grandfather, W.A. Rutledge, founded the company as The Farmers Mutual Hail Insurance Association of Iowa in 1893.
