DART unveils proposed tax levy increase
The Des Moines Area Regional Transit Authority (DART) Commission last night authorized a public hearing on increasing property tax levy rates by 15 cents per $1,000 of valuation.
The increase would be part of the fiscal year 2013 budget, which will cover the costs of implementing service improvements outlined in the DART Forward 2035 plan that was adopted in September.
The commission will vote on final approval at its Feb. 28 meeting following a public hearing set to take place at 5 p.m. at the DART offices, 1100 DART Way. To see the full agenda, click here.
