US Airways plans nonstop flights to Washington, D.C.

US Airways announced today that it will launch nonstop service from Des Moines International Airport to Washington, D.C.’s Reagan National Airport on May 2. Last month, US Airways said it would begin nonstop flights from Des Moines to Charlotte Douglas International Airport, US Airways’ largest hub, on March 25. Republic Airlines, a US Airways Express carrier, will operate daily service, with the exception of Saturdays, between Reagan National and Des Moines on dual-class 69-passenger Embraer 170 aircraft. Flights will leave Des Moines at 6 a.m. and 4:10 p.m. flights will depart Reagan National at 1:50 and 8:10 p.m.
