Headed out of town for Labor Day? You might want to avoid these five cities, whichCheapHotels.org reports have the highest rates over Labor Day.
- Seattle, with average $312 Labor Day rate, up 65 percent from the normal average hotel-room rate of $188. The website attributes this, in part, to the Bumbershoot Festival, Seattle’s popular music and arts event.
- Virginia Beach, Va., $309 a night.
- Atlantic City, N.J., $286 a night.
- Philadelphia, $269 a night.
- Boston, $246 a night.
