Des Moines-based ticketing company MidwesTIX has launched a mobile ticket delivery option in conjunction with sales for the upcoming Center on Sustainable Communities Sustain-A-Ball Fundraiser.

Ticket buyers will receive their tickets on either iPhone or Android smartphones. Purchasers also can forward tickets to other smartphones.

The green technology, which MidwesTIX plans to phase in for all events it handles within the next few months, eliminates the need for event producers to print a guest list at the door and speeds up entry to an event, said Kathryn Dickel, MidwesTIX’s director of operations.

The market for mobile ticketing is expected to reach 15 billion delivered tickets by 2014.
