Paint company hopes to spread out to the Americas

Sherwin-Williams Co., the top U.S. paint maker, said it will buy privately held Mexican paint company Consorcio Comex for about $2.34 billion in cash, including debt, to boost its distribution in the Americas, Reuters reported. Sherwin-Williams, whose brands include Dutch Boy, Krylon, Minwax, Water Seal and its namesake brand, operates about 4,000 paint stores in the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico and Virgin Islands.
