Ribbon cutting scheduled for fire department
A ribbon cutting and open house for the Des Moines Fire Department’s new administration, maintenance and training building is scheduled for Nov. 20 from 3 to 7 p.m.
The building is located at 2715 Dean Ave. Mayor Frank Cownie and members of the City Council will participate in the ribbon-cutting ceremony at 3:15 p.m.
The 54,000-square-foot facility cost $10.6 million, and $3 million was provided by an I-Jobs Relief Grant from the Iowa Legislature and governor.
