AHA asks fit-friendly companies to apply
The American Heart Association is accepting applications to its Start! Fit-Friendly Company program, which recognizes employers that provide programs aimed at promoting healthful and active lifestyles. Companies that also measure the outcomes of their wellness efforts will receive platinum recognition. In 2009, the American Heart Association recognized more than 1,200 companies, and more than 2 million employees participated in the programs. The application deadline is Jan. 31.
