DMARC asks for MLK day donations
The Des Moines Area Religious Council (DMARC) and the Corporation for National Community Service are asking community members to give cash and food during the annual Mark Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service. On Jan. 17, several local businesses will be collecting donations at three locations: Freedom Financial Bank at 600 Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway, Gateway Market at 2002 Woodland Ave. and the DMARC warehouse at 3816 36th St. All donations, which may also be dropped off at any Stop Hunger Red Barrel, will benefit the Emergency Food Pantry network.
