Groups push for water quality in farm bill
The Des Moines Water Works was among a coalition of water, wastewater, conservation, agricultural, environmental and state organizations to distribute letters urging members of Congress to support policies that strengthen the links between agriculture and water quality in the farm bill.
The coalition also includes the Environmental Law and Policy Center, the Iowa Environmental Council and the Iowa Natural Heritage Foundation. The letter was written to U.S. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid and House of Representatives Speaker John Boehner.
