Iowa banks provided $261 million in SBA loans last fiscal year
The U.S. Small Business Association has recognized First American Bank, which has six locations in Greater Des Moines, as a top lender for the fiscal year that ended Sept. 30, 2010. First American approved 22 loans totaling about $8.5 million to small business during the year. For the fiscal year, Iowa banks wrote 944 loans for $261.3 million. The loans are backed by the Small Business Administration.
