The Rebuild Iowa Office (RIO) publicly released its April 2011 quarterly report yesterday.

The report highlights the state’s continuing efforts to recover from the 2008 floods, and says that in the last three months, total recovery funding available to the state has remained the same at more than $4.36 billion while expenditures have increased by more than $200 million.

It also outlines major hurdles remaining in the disaster recovery efforts, including properties still awaiting buyouts and businesses struggling to remain open. This will be RIO’s final quarterly report, as the agency is scheduled to close on June 30, as established by state lawmakers.
