Des Moines area home sales up in March
Home sales in the Des Moines area were up 36 percent from February with 568 homes sold in March, according to figures from the Des Moines Area Association of Realtors (DMAAR).
Compared with March 2010, however, sales were down from 596 homes sold.
Written contracts increased by 28 percent, and the median sale price of a home in Des Moines increased to $131,004. The report shows that there were 5,422 active listings in March, an increase of more than 225 homes, and homes were on the market for an average of 127 days.
