ING Groep NV’s U.S. insurance division today announced the appointment of Alain Karaoglan as executive vice president for finance and strategy. The appointment is another step in preparing ING’s U.S. insurance and investment management organization for a U.S.-focused initial public offering (IPO) of stock. Karaoglan was most recently head of divestitures for American International Group Inc., where he was involved in many transactions, including the IPO of AIA Group Ltd. and the sale of American Life Insurance Co. to Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. He will join ING effective April 25.
