Corn, soybean prices heading up
Corn and soybean prices rose today on speculation that wet, cold weather in the next 10 days will slow planting across the Midwest, Bloomberg reported.
Three storms expected through May 9 will keep soil wet and slow planting across the main growing region, Global Weather Monitoring said. Corn planting was 9 percent complete on April 24, down from 23 percent on average the prior five years, the government said.
