Bustos to leave Iowa Health, make Congressional bid
Cheri Bustos, vice president of communications with Iowa Health System, plans to resign that position to pursue a bid for the Democratic nomination in Illinois’ 17th Congressional District, the Quad-Cities Times reported. “My plan is to resign at the end of the month and commit full time to this,” said Bustos, a former Quad-City Times reporter who joined Trinity hospitals about 10 years ago and went to Iowa Health System in 2008. In 2007, she was elected as 4th Ward alderwoman in East Moline, Ill.
