Cities launch energy education website
The cities of Ankeny, Des Moines, Urbandale and West Des Moines have launched a website intended to showcase how recent city projects funded by the federal Energy Efficiency and Conservation Block Grant program are helping the municipalities to save money and conserve energy. “Knowledge is one of the biggest barriers to pursuing efficiency, so we’re sharing what we’ve learned,” said John Konior, assistant to the city manager of Urbandale. Residents are encouraged to visit www.sharegoodenergy.org to see the energy-saving projects and share their own tips.
