Des Moines artists to paint armed forces mural
Des Moines artists Thomas Rosborough and William Barnes have been chosen by the Army National Guard and the U.S. Army Reserve to paint an 11-by-66-foot mural to be installed in the Armed Forces Reserve Center in Middletown.
The mural is part of the state’s Art in State Buildings program, for which Neumann Bros. Inc. is the architect, and Olson-Larsen Galleries is coordinating the commission. The Armed Forces Reserve Center will house staff and equipment to support the Iowa Army National Guard and the U.S. Army Reserve.
