The Community Foundation of Greater Des Moines and the Greater Des Moines Partnership are collaborating with community and economic development leaders on a development planning process to create a shared vision and strategic plan for the metro area and Central Iowa. Invitations to participate on the “Capitol Crossroads: A Vision for Greater Des Moines & Central Iowa” steering committee were mailed this week. The vision plan will be led by three chairs: J. Barry Griswell of the Community Foundation, Cara Heiden of Wells Fargo Home Mortgage and Polk County Supervisor Angela Connolly. The process is expected to take about seven months and a formal plan will be released in May 2011.
