At last week’s West Des Moines City Council meeting, council members approved a slight change in plat lines to make way for a hotel in Jordan West Office Park.

The 37-acre development west of Jordan Creek Town Center is expected to finalize the deal with the hotel soon, said Doug Dieck, vice president of development at Ryan Cos. Inc., the developer of this project. Ryan also is considering developing a multi-tenant office building there this year.

“The economic conditions are giving everyone wobbling knees to a degree,” Dieck said. “But corporate profits are still decent and we think there is room for that building out there.”

He said the project has received interest from some office users, but nothing is ready to be announced yet. Ryan also could finalize a deal for a restaurant soon. Ryan is expected to start infrastructure work this spring.
