Linda Godwin of Iowa Realty was  named Realtor of the Year, and Rod  Clarkson of Coldwell Banker was  named Realtor Salesperson of the Year  at the recent awards banquet of the Des  Moines Area Association of Realtors.

DMAAR recognized 82 of its members  with Circle of Excellence awards  for sales volume of $8.4 million or  greater in the 2006 calendar year. It  also honored 25 DMAAR members for  sales of 50 or more units in 2006.

Re/Max Real Estate Group’s Vicky  Daniel and First Realty’s Charlene Peers  were recognized for earning Circle of  Excellence awards for 25 years.

Gail Flagel of First Realty was honored  for her contributions to the organization’s  board of directors and state and  national associations.

Barry Hesse of Re/Max Real Estate  Group received the DMAAR President’s  Award for his dedication to the association.  In 2006,Hesse worked closely with  the Des Moines Water Works to develop  a system to end the practice of passing  overdue water charges from the seller  of a home to the buyer
