The Iowa Economic Development Authority and Iowa Great Places Citizen Advisory Board designated Grimes as an Iowa Great Place. The designation recognizes communities dedicated to improving their quality of life and quality of place. “From the city’s investment in GrimesPlex … to our growing business community, Grimes is an exciting place to be,” said development services director Alex Pfaltzgraff. “We are honored to have the Iowa Great Places designation.”  With the designation, Grimes will have access to new grants to help fund projects in the community.
