The Mainstream Living board of directors announced that Kris Eastman will become the nonprofit disability and mental health provider’s next president and CEO. Eastman has been with Mainstream Living for 37 years, starting her career as a social work practicum student. She has served as chief operating officer since 2021. Before that, she was vice president of waiver services. “Kris’ warm personality and servant leadership style coupled with her knowledge of the regulatory environment and external landscape will ensure Mainstream Living continues on a path of success,” Nathan Thompson, Mainstream Living’s board chair, said in a prepared statement. Mainstream Living provides services in Polk, Story, Boone and Dallas counties. The organization employs a staff of nearly 500 and provides community housing and supportive services to adults with disabilities.
