A ribbon-cutting for the DMACC Templeton Regional Center took place Monday in Templeton in Carroll County, marking the 13th campus or center where DMACC offers classes. The 10,700-square-foot Templeton Regional Center opened in 2022 after being remodeled to include classrooms and lab space for hands-on learning in health sciences, construction and electrical trades, and advanced manufacturing. A $1 million grant from the Iowa Department of Education’s Career Academy Incentive Fund awarded in 2021 financed the expansion. Enrollment has more than doubled from 29 students taking classes at the center last fall to 68 students this fall. The facility is centrally located to serve high school students from five area districts, including IKM-Manning, Coon Rapids-Bayard, Audubon, Exira-Elk Horn-Kimballton and Carroll.
