The Greater Des Moines Habitat for Humanity has moved into its new headquarters at 95 University Ave. in Des Moines, the group announced. Space in the facility will provide a more central location for future homeowners taking part in the group’s programs, the group said. The new location was remodeled to include offices, meeting rooms and training spaces. Warehouse space is also available to store the group’s construction materials. Habitat for Humanity bought the property in 2022. The nonprofit group’s previous location at 2200 E. Euclid Ave. is being renovated to allow for the expansion of the Habitat for Humanity ReStore. In 2022, the ReStores provided $2.1 million to support new affordable homes, critical home repairs and modifications, and housing counseling and financial education in Polk, Dallas and Jasper counties. The renovated space will allow the store to increase revenue and further fuel the mission, according to a news release.
