Drake University announced a new academic cooperation agreement with the University of Prishtina in Kosovo and presented Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani with an Honorary Global Citizenship Award during her visit to Des Moines on Wednesday. Drake’s new partnership with the University of Prishtina, which is the largest higher-education institution in Kosovo, will facilitate educational, cultural and research collaboration between the two universities, including exchange opportunities for students, faculty, scholars and staff, according to a news release. “Global thinking and intercultural learning are central to the Drake experience and our mission of preparing students to be engaged global citizens. This partnership is mutually beneficial and will provide new opportunities for students and faculty at each of our institutions to learn, grow and thrive,” Drake University President Marty Martin said in a prepared statement.
