196 wordsAll Latest News, Nonprofits and PhilanthropyThe Central Iowa Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals has announced the 2023 Philanthropy Day award winners, who will be recognized on Nov. 17 at the 38th Annual Philanthropy Day Awards Luncheon.
The 2023 award winners are:
- Outstanding Individual Philanthropist – Jose Luis Hernandez
- Outstanding Large Corporate/Foundation Philanthropy – Fareway Stores
- Outstanding Volunteer Fundraiser – Doug West
- Outstanding Small Corporate/Foundation Philanthropy – F&G
- Outstanding Youth in Philanthropy – Brenlyn Knutson
The Philanthropy Day awards recognize individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to the quality of life in Central Iowa, according to a press release.
This year’s awards luncheon will begin at 11:45 a.m. at the Iowa Events Center in Des Moines.
The event will mark the 38th year that the Central Iowa Chapter of AFP has participated in National Philanthropy Day, which honors philanthropists in communities throughout the United States.
The Association of Fundraising Professionals represents more than 26,000 fundraisers in 170 chapters around the world, and the Central Iowa Chapter of AFP represents more than 150 nonprofits in the Central Iowa area.
