The Simpson College has announced a leadership transition in its office of college advancement. Vice President for College Advancement Jared Bienemann is leaving after three years in the role to become the chief development officer at Buena Vista University. Assistant vice president Chris Goodale has been promoted to serve as interim vice president of college advancement.

Goodale has more than 30 years of fundraising and event management experience, including 18 years in Simpson’s advancement office, a news release said. He returned to Simpson 18 months ago after serving as president of Above + Beyond Cancer in Des Moines “[Bienemann] spearheaded major fundraising efforts to complete our Dunn Library and Cowles Fieldhouse renovations and was integral to launching the All-In for Iowa 99 County Scholarship initiative while driving annual giving to new heights. We are fortunate to have someone of Chris’s caliber and character stepping up to carry that great work forward,” acting president Terry Handley said in a prepared statement. Andy English, a Simpson alumnus and the college’s former director of alumni relations, also recently returned to serve as the office’s executive director of development, the release said.
