Community Foundation holding discussion on effects of new tax law

This session will break down the new tax policy’s most critical components, highlighting how changes in deduction thresholds, giving incentives and compliance requirements may affect nonprofit strategies and donor engagement. With more than 25 years of experience in estate and charitable planning, Lynn M. Gaumer, senior gift planning consultant at the Stelter Co., will provide insights and takeaways. The conversation will be facilitated by Kristi Knous, president of the Community Foundation of Greater Des Moines. The event is open to all audiences, including donors, nonprofit leaders, nonprofit board members and professionals who advise clients on charitable contributions. The event is Monday, July 14 from 9-10 a.m. at the C3 Center, 1910 Ingersoll Ave. Limited in-person and virtual attendance options are available. The event is free, but registration is requested.
