SBA approves $14M in Iowa, $4.8M in Central Iowa

The U.S. Small Business Administration has released its monthly loan approval figures in Iowa for the month of July. The SBA backed 29 loans for $14,072,500 to Iowa businesses from participating lenders using its two largest lending programs. The SBA 7(a) and 504 programs capitalized 14 new and 15 existing businesses that report creating 73 new jobs and retaining 111 jobs as a result.

In Central Iowa, those loans were:

  • DCW Investments, Altoona, $601,000, four new jobs, existing business, offices of physicians.
  • Altoona Athletic Training, Altoona, $576,000, five new jobs, new business, all other personal services.
  • Painting by Jen, Ankeny, $30,000, three new jobs, existing business, painting and wall covering contractors.
  • Bilt Guitars, Des Moines, $105,000, zero new jobs, existing business, musical instrument manufacturing.
  • Beaverdale Books, Des Moines, $100,000, zero new jobs, existing business, retail.
  • Best Deal Iowa Auto Sales & Service, Des Moines, $90,300, zero new jobs, new business, used car dealers.
  • Burk Holdings, Grimes, $2,217,700, 10 new jobs, new business, limited-service restaurants.
  • BNPSUN, Johnston, $350,000, three new jobs, existing business, new single-family housing construction.
  • American Technology Consulting, West Des Moines, $500,000, zero new jobs, existing business, administrative management and general management consulting services.
  • Offfset, Ames, $25,000, zero new jobs, new business.
  • Arch Foot and Ankle, P.C., Norwalk, $250,000, two new jobs, existing business, offices of podiatrists.
