Athene has announced a $500,000 donation to Greater Des Moines Habitat for Humanity to help expand access to affordable housing for families in Central Iowa. The announcement coincided with Habitat’s annual Key Awards event, where Athene was recognized for its leadership in advancing affordable housing solutions in the community. The donation will be distributed over five years, according to a news release. “We are grateful for the partnership we have created with Athene,” Lance Henning, CEO of Greater Des Moines Habitat for Humanity, said in a prepared statement. “The combination of financial support and volunteerism from Athene has been a powerful boost in expanding affordable housing in the region. Together, we are creating greater stability, opportunity and hope for the families we serve.”
