The organizations will ask the Iowa Economic Development Authority to certify the site, meaning it will already have sewer, water and power provided. The area has rail access and is part of a 1,350-acre area annexed to create Ames’ full industrial park. “This is a tremendous opportunity for Ames and Central Iowa,” Dan Culhane, president and chief executive officer of AEDC, said in a statement. “The development of this site really brings Ames and Story County to the forefront as an ideal location for major capital investment. We are excited to partner with Alliant Energy on this significant project that will create meaningful employment opportunities in Story County.”
