North Korea’s missile test raises profile of Drake talk
North Korea’s latest ballistic missile launch may have added intrigue to a lecture planned at Drake University Dec. 4. The address by Scott Snyder, a senior fellow for Korea studies at the nonpartisan Council on Foreign Relations, will speak at 7 p.m. in the Olmsted Center. Snyder also is co-chair of the National Committee on North Korea, and has provided advice to nongovernmental organizations and humanitarian organizations active in North Korea. His book, “South Korea at the Crossroads: Autonomy and Alliance in an Era of Rival Powers,” examines changes in South Korean foreign policy and considers its future. The speech is free and open to the public.
