UnityPoint Health-Des Moines and Grinnell Regional Medical Center, in partnership with University of Iowa Health Care, announced Wednesday they have finalized an affiliation agreement between the organizations. The affiliation was effective Jan. 1. Under the affiliation, UnityPoint Health-Des Moines will become the sole corporate member of Grinnell Regional Medical Center, which will be known as UnityPoint Health – Grinnell Regional Medical Center. “With the changing direction of health care it is increasingly important for organizations and systems to collaborate and partner in order to continue to provide quality affordable health care,” said Eric Crowell, president and CEO of UnityPoint Health-Des Moines. As part of its relationship with UnityPoint Health and University of Iowa Health Care, the medical center will expand the high-quality clinical services it provides to Grinnell and surrounding areas, the organizations said. Additionally, the partnership will allow the three organizations to share quality data and standardize best practice treatment protocols across the continuum of care.
