Nexstar Media Group Inc. has named Mary Ann Johnson vice president and general manager of Des Moines/Ames television stations WOI-TV (ABC) and KCWI (CW) and their associated digital services, including weareiowa.com. Johnson, who most recently worked as a marketing consultant for Phoenix-based Berkshire Hathaway Automotive, has relocated to Des Moines and will begin in the position immediately. A Sioux City native, Johnson began her broadcasting career nearly two decades ago as a national sales manager at KPTH-TV in Sioux City. From 2008 to 2013, Johnson was vice president and general manager of KCAU-TV (ABC) in Sioux City. She was active in numerous community organizations in Sioux City, and has served as president and marketing director of the South Sioux City Chamber of Commerce, and on the board of the Siouxland Advertising Federation.
