Havens named CEO of Grinnell Regional Medical Center

UnityPoint Health-Des Moines has appointed Jennifer Havens — a registered nurse and administrator who has worked in health care for more than 28 years — as the new chief executive officer at UnityPoint Health-Grinnell Regional Medical Center. She will assume day-to-day leadership of the 49-bed not-for-profit medical center on July 30. Havens was named vice president of operations for Central Iowa Healthcare in Marshalltown when it was purchased by UnityPoint Health in May 2017. She retained her role as CEO of Grundy County Memorial Hospital in Grundy Center, where she earlier worked as chief clinical officer. Havens has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Crichton College in Memphis, Tenn., and a master’s degree in health care administration from Des Moines University. She succeeds Todd Linden, who retired in December 2017 after 24 years as CEO. UnityPoint Health launched a national search for a new CEO following GRMC’s affiliation with UnityPoint Health in January.
