48 Hour Film finalists named
The 48 Hour Film Project in Des Moines has announced 13 finalist films that will be screened in the finals Aug. 16 at the Fleur Cinema. Award presentations will follow. Tickets are on sale online and at the box office. The contest asks entrants to write, shoot and edit a four- to seven-minute film. All teams were assigned a character, a prop, a line of dialogue and a genre to include in their film. The field started with 36 teams. The winner will advance to the international finals,where the winner will earn a slot at the Cannes International Film Festival’s Short Film Corner. Finalists in Des Moines are: “Acquired Taste” by Fellow Kids; “Admission” by Slow AF; “Alone Together” by Valley Drama Family; “American Eagle” by Baseball Team; “Big Shot” by Keep the Change Films; “Medium Stakes” by One Genome Short Productions; “No Choice” by Sea Urchin Productions; “Note to Self” by DEFT; “Palle Amorevoli” by Tiny Explosions; “Peregrination” by Gladhouse Studio; “Scope” by Light Smith Media; “Sonic Sight” by the Unfathomable Possibilities Assembly; and “Symphony of Flavor” by White Poison Industries.
