Kristine Young, CEO of Miller the Driller Inc., has become the first woman president of Associated General Contractors of America Inc. The trade group announced that Young, 60, was sworn in this morning during a ceremony at its annual convention in Las Vegas. “I’m humbled that this association has always treated me as a fellow contractor that happens to be a woman, instead of a woman that happens to be a contractor,” said Young, who will oversee the association’s efforts to boost demand for construction activity by advocating for pro-growth tax and trade policies. Miller the Driller, which has operated in Greater Des Moines for more than 50 years, filed in January to reorganize its finances under U.S. bankruptcy law.
