Airbnb visitors have generated $3 million in ‘host’ income this year

Des Moines led the way, with 6,500 guests generating $640,000 in income, Airbnb said. Iowa City was second, with 3,800 visitors accounting for $501,000. Ankeny hosted 940 guests who generated $70,000 in income, and Ames hosted 960 people who spent $115,000 for their accommodations.
