Passenger traffic at Des Moines International Airport grew by 4.1 percent in January compared with the same month last year. While that was a smaller leap than in some recent months, airport Executive Director Kevin Foley said he was pleased with the gain. January has been relatively strong in the past couple of years, reducing the likelihood of a big percentage jump. Of the larger airlines, American Airlines led the pack with an 11.8 percent gain, while Delta gained 8.7 percent and United Airlines’ total dropped by 3.1 percent.
