Airport traffic up 5.2 percent in October
Passenger traffic at Des Moines International Airport was up 5.2 percent in October over the same month the previous year. But the airport still is at 1.2 percent growth for the year. Airport officials have said the airport needs traffic to grow 3 percent a year to warrant a proposed $420 million project that includes a new terminal. Southwest Airlines posted the biggest gain at 17.4 percent over the previous October. Year to date, Delta Air Lines has gained 6.8 percent over the previous year, the top gain. Read more
