Alliant Energy notes cuts in greenhouse gas emissions

Alliant Energy has cut plant emissions of greenhouse gases sharply since 2005 and plans to add more renewable energy, the company said in a new release. Carbon dioxide emissions will be down by 40 percent by 2030, and sulfur dioxide emissions will be 90 percent lower by 2020, compared with the base year of 2005. Alliant plans to install 1,350 megawatts of natural gas generation, 1,000 megawatts of wind power and 8 megawatts of solar. Read the full report.
