The Ames Tribune and six other Iowa publications were sold by Midlands Newspapers Inc. to Stephens Media Iowa LLC on Monday.

Stephens Media Iowa is a subsidiary of Stephens Media LLC, which owns the Las Vegas Review-Journal and more than 50 other publications.

Midlands is a subsidiary of Omaha World-Herald Co., which still owns seven daily newspapers in Nebraska and Iowa.

The purchase price for the Ames Tribune and the other papers was not disclosed. The other papers involved in the sale were the Boone News-Republican, Dallas County News, Nevada Journal, Ames About People and Advertiser, Tri-County Times and Algona Upper Des Moines.
