Animal Rescue League enters national competition
Animal Rescue League of Iowa Inc. is one of 50 shelters that earned a spot to compete in American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals $100K Challenge.
The contenders will enter a three-month competition where they will compete to save at least 300 more animals during the months of August, September and October than they did in the same three months of 2010.
The winner will get a $100,000 grant, and the agency that gets the most community members involved will receive a $25,000 grant. Participants were chosen by an online vote in which more than 500,000 votes were cast.
