The Ankeny City Council on Monday approved construction contracts to begin infrastructure development for a 400-acre business park on the city’s southeast side.

The council approved a $1.875 million contract with Elder Corp. of Pleasent Hill for construction of two roadways into Crosswinds Business Park, and a contract for $315,109 with Priority Excavating LLC of Des Moines to extend sanitary sewers into the planned business park.

The projects are partially funded by a $1.4 million state transportation grant, which the city will repay as the private landowners pay water and sewer connection fees.

The project’s first phase is expected to open up 120 acres of shovel-ready development sites, with initial sites potentially available by the end of this year. To read a related Business Record article, click here.
