ARPA funds to help build workforce training center in Osceola

The Clarke County Development Corp. has been awarded a $2 million grant from the U.S. Department of Commerce to help build a workforce training center in Osceola. According to a news release, the commerce department’s Economic Development Administration awarded the funds from the American Rescue Plan. The project will provide training in advanced manufacturing and construction trades in southern Iowa. The ARPA funds will be matched with $500,000 in local funds, with the project expected to create 118 jobs.
