Following the lead of Denver, Austin and San Francisco, local artist Jason Brommel is facilitating a First Friday event popularized in those cities. First Friday Art Crawl, a collaborative among downtown gallery owners, performance artists and dining establishments, begins today in Des Moines and is intended as a way to help brand the city as a cultural center. Northland Studios and Gallery, The Village Bean, Raygun, The Lift, Alba, Lucca and Luna Bistro are slated to participate in June. For more information, email jasonbrommel@gmail.com.
