Atlantic Coca-Cola Bottling expands territory

153 wordsAll Latest News, Retail and BusinessAtlantic Coca-Cola Bottling Co. announced today that it has closed a transaction with the Coca-Cola Co. for expanded territory distribution rights in Iowa and Illinois.
The bottler has assumed territories in areas that surround distribution centers located in Mason City, Ames, Spirit Lake, Cedar Rapids, Dubuque and Ottumwa, and in the Quad Cities area in Illinois. Financial terms were not disclosed.
“We are proud to expand our relationship with the Coca-Cola Co. to provide services to an even greater area in Iowa and parts of Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, and Missouri,” said Kirk Tyler, the company’s president.
With the expansion, Atlantic will now be operating out of nine facilities and will employ nearly 700 employees, The agreement is part of a plan to re-franchise all of the Coca-Cola Co’s North American territories by the end of 2017. Based in Atlantic, the privately owned independent bottler also operates a Waukee distribution center.
