Aviva USA introduced on Thursday “Status for Youth,” a social media campaign that allows people to donate the Facebook statuses for a day to youth-focused charities. Adopt-A-Classroom, Covenant House, Help USA and The Boys and Girls Clubs of America are the four charities vying to win the largest share of a $100,000 grant. The charity with the most status donations by Aug. 30 will receive $60,000. Aviva USA said the four charities align with its parent company’s “Street to School” program, a global philanthropic initiative that supports local efforts aimed at assisting disadvantaged youths. Aviva plc’s corporate goal is to help 500,000 children worldwide get off the streets and into school or training from 2010 through 2014.
