Aviva USA hosted a grand opening ceremony this morning at its new 360,000-square-foot headquarters building at Jordan Creek and Mills Civic parkways in West Des Moines. The 88-acre campus “represents both our investment in Central Iowa and our commitment to grow our brand and serve even more customers throughout the United States,” said Andrew Moss, CEO of Aviva plc, in prepared remarks. The London-based insurance group, the sixth-largest in the world, entered the U.S. insurance market in 2006 with the acquisition of AmerUs Group Co. in late 2006. The company’s choice of West Des Moines for its headquarters is a “testament to the extraordinary business environment here,” Mayor Steve Gaer said.
